Google... What is this? We guess at Google's meaning, it becomes the part of our everyday life. Google has become a subject of envy to top-managers all over the world. Google dictates IT fashion in perspective technological decisions. It simplifies information search and makes this search more qualitative. Google became the best American employer and the most influential brand in 2006. Google gives everybody the possibility to earn money. More money! Much more money! Google earns itself even more. Its shares go up and up. From $85 to $500 in two years after IPO. Hundreds of Google's employees wake up as millionaires. Viva la Google! The biggest, the fastest, the cleverest!     What was at the beginning of Google? Research project of two students from Stanford Larry Page and Sergey Brin started in January, 1996. Domain google.com was registered on September 14, 1997. One year later Google Inc. "opened its doors" in a rented garage. This garage has been redeemed by Google. Its former owner Susan Wojcicki now is Vice President of Product Management in Google now. Suggest your garage to young guys for high-tech experiment and let us see what will be 10 years later.     Now Google headquarters Googleplex is a real heart of Silicon Valley. The number of its servers grows every day and every night. Several years ago they have "only" a few thousands, now their quantity is close to the half of a million! Initial investments were $1.1 million. After eight years Google's capitalization is over $154 billion! Google grows, grows and grows… Together with the cost of the Company, its appetite, ambitious and plans grows correspondingly.     How much does Google know about you? Ask yourself at first – how much we know about Google? You think – a lot. You are wrong. We know only an official open part of the Company, its official history, what they write in official press-releases and blogs and say during official meetings and conferences.     Google knows about you much more. You can't suspect how much more. Google owns a giant database with your personal and business information. The more new free service Google opens, the more information come to it. Google knows about our interests, our preferences and latent sins. It knows about the time of your Internet activity and your places of interest there. Google knows about your PC or Mac probably more than you know about it. Are you using Gmail? Google knows about what and for whom you are writing. Do you use Google Web Accelerator? Google knows where you have been and what you have bought. Through different web-questionnaires Google knows about you practically everything – name and address, date of birth and nickname of dog. Google, with its possibilities, can easily combine all databases in one, can collect everything about everybody. Have you uploaded your photo through one of Google's services? Congratulations! Now Google knows the colours of your eyes and hair. Through Google Desktop it can know about the files on your computer. Google knows about you much more than your parents. Because your parents are not sure what sites have you visited, what technical, musical or sexual preferences you have, but Google is sure. Every person has its secret part, not opened to anybody. Are you sure, that you haven't told about this part of your life to Google? Google Know What You Did Last Summer! Good name for modern thriller and not far from reality.     You can assume that now Google doesn't use the private information injurious to you. But who know what will be in the future? According to the words of ex-CIA Robert David Steel, who told us that Google works in close cooperation with "intelligence community" and the US government. There were no evidences. May be it was only Robert's PR action. But we can imagine such opportunities. Especially, when we had heard about In-Q-Tel, one of so-owners of Google and simultaneously (people say) financing by CIA. Such rumors can't help us to trust Google. Will you be able to believe Google if you are not sure in your privacy?     Step by step Google is building the Supercomputer of the Future. Google's robots collect all possible information, sort and analyze it, store it in the memory of servers. Right now by gathering this Base-about-everything, constant improvement of the algorithms, expansion of its own network, Google creates a basis of real Artificial Intelligence. Do you remember numerous book and films describing the war between Mankind and AI? It's not a fantastic; future is knocking at our Windows. Forget about tens or hundreds of years. Not your children and grandchildren will meet with the new reality, which is insensibly formed by Google.     Google – who are you? The engine of progress or evil genius of our future? Or of the present?     In the past, 2006, one of politics has accused Google in distribution of a child's pornography. He approved that Google cooperate with distributors of this "industry". Nobody who is in right mind can believe this. As though for Google there is the main way of earning money! Google couldn't even to this idiot. But through his populist action this politician draws us way from the real resources of Google in the war against child's porn and other crimes. Google has all technical opportunities for filtrating inquiries. Google, with its database of search inquiries can easily border the activity of these "jackals of a net". Not only porn, but a lot of drugs are sold everyday with the help of Google answers. Google says about it's adherence to the foundations of democracy. We don't want to filter results of searches – they say. But they forgot about democracy in a second when Chinese government had asked them to censor search results for China! Google can't leave without fat Chinese "piece of a net pie". Forget about all principles except "the principle of dollar"! Double standards in action!     But Google is filtrating results for Americans. In English! Right now! Do you remember a scarecrow of DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act)? Now it's look like that in USA infringement of copyrights is a crime much more terrible than a murder or violence against children! Nobody argues - infringement of copyrights isn't good or legal but now P2P nets users who have downloaded illegal mp3 are described as a worth variant of Jack the Ripper. Where do we come? Soon you will be arrested because of whistling a melody of your favourite song! Your will receive 20 years in prison with confiscation of all your property and shooting of your dog. Looks funny? Your vision will change with your experience! Google knows what you are searching and downloading. Be very cautious using Google services! Not only Google is engaged in gathering the information, but Big G is the biggest and most powerful system of collecting the information. Therefore we speak today about Google. Tomorrow, probably, we'll have to speak about other companies too.     Google has already politicized. In September, 2006 the search giant has founded the committee of political actions. This organization (Google NetPAC) will work with the Congress for promotion of Google's interests. The decisions of the government that can destroy a neutrality of the WWW give the most serious concern of Google. Google together with some IT companies want to forbid (by the Congress act) for providers of fast web-access to block content and services coming from rivals. Google has also declared its interest in the problems of confidentiality in the Net. We wish to believe that there isn't only a PR declaration of Google, but its real interest.     Google has bought YouTube in 2006. Less than for two after they had started, YouTube became the most popular place for free uploading and downloading video files. For $1.65 billion Google has received an opportunity to expand its audience and be the first in the new fast-growing market. Former owners of YouTube have received real money for their unprofitable project. But there are not only pluses in this transaction. Copyright problems here are deciding by Google step by step. YouTube has becoming the tool of aggressive illegal propaganda. The Mexican drug gangs kill the victims and put their videos on the site. Muslim terrorist groups tape their attacks against Americans and show them to all Internet-users. And the decision of this problem hasn't been found.     Google meets with the similar unplanned use of other services. The Iraq insurgents used hi-resolution photos from Google Maps planning their attacks against the British military bases in the south of Iraq. Now Google has changed these lists to older variants (which was made before the occupation). You can easy find a lot of such real-world examples of "incorrect" use of Google services. And how much of them shall we see in the future? Google's representatives have fairy noticed that any information can be used both in the blessing and in the harm. But why they didn't think about this "wrong use" before their new cool services began to work?     Our dear reader! This article is not against Google. We wish it to be a vaccination against "illness of permissiveness" in a big informational (and now – more and more social) body named Google. Not to forget about all problems! We try to help Google team to avoid and to protect themselves against "Net Parasites". Google have to understand one simple idea. Google now is not a usual very successful IT company. It's something greater. It influences to the different parts of everybody's life. Every success or mistake of Google has born a big "waves" everywhere on Earth. We hope that Google will have more successes and fewer failures. In fact we can't wish ourselves bad!
