On Apr. 21, the price of a barrel of the benchmark West Texas Intermediate crude for May delivery hit $117.76 on the New York Mercantile Exchange -- an all-time high -- before settling at $117.46. Oil prices are up 23% so far this year, and 16% in April alone. |
